CALGARY, Alberta – June 2, 2015 – Acceleware Ltd. (TSX-V:AXE) announced today that it has agreed to provide the University of Calgary via its CREWES research project, AxFWI™ for use in their research.

“We are excited to continue our support of CREWES by providing them with access to this state-of-the-art modular application,” said Eric Trouillot, Director of Business Development and Technology, Seismic Software at Acceleware.   “The AxFWI™ platform offers great flexibility and is built on Acceleware's proven fast RTM libraries. This combination provides researchers with best of both worlds: speed and accuracy in computations along with the ability to easily test various algorithms and techniques, therefore accelerating research efforts.”

CREWES will be addressing major roadblocks of full-waveform-inversion (FWI) in their 5 year plan and with the use of AxFWI™ which will further the development of FWI techniques. The strength of AxFWI™ is a result of Acceleware’s proven fast and accurate finite-difference engines that power Acceleware’s robust reverse time migration (AxRTM™) and seismic forward modelling (AxWave™) solutions.

“Having access to a high-performance FWI product such as AxFWI™ will be a great benefit to the CREWES team as we work to develop new ways to more efficiently capture the benefits of leading edge approaches to seismic imaging techniques,” said Gary Margrave, Director of CREWES.

About CREWES

CREWES, or the Consortium for Research in Elastic Wave Exploration Seismology (www.crewes.org), is an applied geophysical research group in the Department of Geoscience at the University of Calgary concentrating on the acquisition, analysis and interpretation of multi-component seismic data.  Working with a large and diverse group of industry partners, they conduct advanced research in resource exploration and development and are committed to obtaining improved 3D geological images of the subsurface.

About Acceleware

Acceleware (www.acceleware.com) develops high performance seismic imaging and modeling software products and provides revolutionary modular FWI platforms, the current “state-of-the-art” technique that inverts the full bandwidth of seismic data with the reflected and refracted wave fields. As experts in programming for multi-core CPUs and massively parallel GPUs, Acceleware’s professional services team specializes in accelerating computationally intense applications for clients to speed up product design, analyze data and help make better business decisions. Acceleware’s products and services are used by some of the world’s largest energy and engineering companies.

Acceleware is a public company on Canada’s TSX Venture Exchange under the trading symbol AXE. Neither TSX Venture Exchange nor its Regulation Services Provider (as that term is defined in the policies of the TSX Venture Exchange) accepts responsibility for the adequacy or accuracy of this release.
