London, United Kingdom, June 12, 2013 – Acceleware Ltd. (TSX-V:AXE) a leading developer of high performance computing applications, today announced the release of AxRTM 6.0 at the 75th European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE) conference.

AxRTM is an accelerated Reverse Time Migration (RTM) library used for the accurate imaging of complex subsurface geologies. The new release includes optimized support for Intel Xeon Phi coprocessors, a MathWorks® Matlab® research interface and enhanced geophysical features for exceptional subsurface imaging.

“AxRTM 6.0 is the first commercial RTM library optimized for Intel’s new Xeon Phi coprocessors, in keeping with our mandate to offer a rich platform of the latest high performance computing options that includes CPUs and NVIDIA® Tesla™ GPUs,” said Darren Foltinek, RTM Product Manager at Acceleware.
The latest release also offers a unique research-enabling interface to Matlab scientific computing environment. The interface combines the speed of the AxRTM library with the programming and visualization ease of Matlab.

“Matlab allows us to quickly test new ideas and visualize the results, while AxRTM provides a GPU powered high performance wavefield propagation and reverse time migration engine.  Interfacing these two tools will allow us to perform Full Waveform Inversion research on our real-world datasets, enabling us to efficiently test new ideas and algorithms,” said Gary F. Margrave, Director of the Consortium for Research in Elastic Wave Exploration Seismology (CREWES) and Professor of Geophysics at the University of Calgary.

Since 2008, Acceleware’s AxRTM pre-stack two-way wave equation migration library with isotropic, VTI and TTI capabilities has lead the industry in compute performance. Uniquely supporting NVIDIA Tesla GPUs, Intel Xeon Phi coprocessors and multi-core CPU clusters, the AxRTM library provides seismic data processors with an economically viable RTM solution. Advanced geophysical imaging features including dual TTI formulations for stability and speed, high quality image condition, obliquity correction and innovative noise removal produce high quality images of exceptional detail.

The 6.0 release will be available to AxRTM software integrators, Paradigm, DownUnder GeoSolutions and Tsunami Development in Q3, 2013.

Additional information and product demonstrations are available at the Acceleware booth #1830 on the EAGE exhibit floor. EAGE, the world’s largest geoscience event, is being held June 10-13 at the ExCel London centre. For more information please visit acceleware.com/event/eage-2013-london
