Celebrating Earth Day, Every Day

On April 22nd, people across the world will celebrate the 51st annual Earth Day, where we will initiate sustainability efforts, appreciate nature, and educate others on how we can reduce our carbon footprint.

This year, Earth Day has gone digital! Virtual events including fundraisers, environmental lectures, and films will take place on Earth Day. You can view a complete list of events at

2021’s theme is “Restore Our Earth”, and we wanted to share ways that the Acceleware team is reducing our environmental impact through our technologies and day-to-day operations. In office, we have implemented easy ways for team members to make an impact on their carbon footprint, including:

  1. In-office recycling and composting program

  2. Paperless communications and processes

  3. Encourage commuting and biking to work, providing showers and storage areas

A few members from the team, including our CEO, bike to work every day – no matter what season it is!

The much smaller physical footprint of Acceleware's RF XL process contributes to additional improvements in environmental performance compared to SAGD or other steam-based production. RF XL boasts massive environmental improvement potential, including:

  1. Fresh Water Management

  2. o RF XL not only eliminates the need for fresh water use, but also drastically reduces the scale of water processing facilities.

  3. Reducing land use up to 60-75%

  4. No solvent injection or solvent recovery

  5. Expected to reduce Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs) by 25% immediately, and up to 100% when a renewable electricity source is used

When life around the world returns to normal, our world cannot return to business-as-usual. We only have one Earth, and a healthy planet is not an option – it’s a necessity. How are you celebrating Earth Day and taking steps to Restore Our Earth? Let us know in the comments!
