RF ENERGY IN THE CARBON CAPTURE CYCLE
Acceleware's Clean Tech Inverter (CTI) applies radio frequency (RF) energy directly to CO2-rich amine solvent, replacing combustion heat and targeting the reboiler as the primary energy cost in carbon capture and natural gas processing.
How It Works?
RF energy is applied at the regeneration stage, the point where nearly all of the process's energy cost is currently spent.
Step 1 - Absorption
Amine solvent contacts flue gas or raw natural gas and absorbs CO2 (and H2S, where present), becoming “rich” amine.
Step 2 — RF Regeneration
Rich amine passes through the CTI system, where RF energy heats the solvent directly, releasing the absorbed gas in place of a conventional steam reboiler.
Step 3 — Reuse
Regenerated “lean” amine returns to the absorber, while the released gas moves on to storage or downstream processing.
