The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta regulate the practices of engineering and geoscience in Alberta. It is a progressive self-governing association fulfilling the mandate given to it by the Engineering and Geoscience Professions (EGP) Act. APEGA’s mission is to serve the public interest by regulating the practices of engineering and geoscience in Alberta by providing leadership.
Canadian Heavy Oil Association
The Canadian Heavy Oil Association (CHOA) is a multi-discipline, volunteer-based, not-for-profit association focused on heavy oil and oil sands projects and developments. CHOA is a hub for the Canadian heavy oil and oil sands and its mission is to provide an appropriate technical, educational and social forum.
Canadian Society of Exploration Geophysicists
The Canadian Society of Exploration Geophysicists promotes the science of geophysics and fellowship among people interested in geophysical prospecting. Its mission is to encourage and support scientific, educational and charitable activities that benefit geophysicists through the solicitation of contributions aimed at promoting the development of geophysical knowledge, education and public awareness.
Consortium for Research in Elastic Wave Exploration Seismology
The Consortium for Research in Elastic Wave Exploration Seismology is an applied geophysical research group concentrating on the acquisition, analysis and interpretation of multi-component seismic data. Through working with industry partners they conduct advanced research in resource exploration and development. Its goal is to obtain improved 3-D geological images of the subsurface.
European Association of Geophysicists and Engineers
EAGE is a professional association for geoscientists and engineers. It is an organization with a worldwide membership providing a global network of commercial and academic professionals. The association is truly multi-disciplinary and international in form and pursuits. EAGE focuses on the world of geophysics, geology and reservoir engineering.

Creating value through innovation and collaboration in the hydrocarbon and energy industry. Their mission is to facilitate innovation, collaborative research and technology development, demonstration and deployment for a responsible Canadian hydrocarbon energy industry. Society of Exploration Geophysicists
The Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) is a not-for-profit organization that promotes the science of applied geophysics and the education of geophysicists. SEG fosters the expert and ethical practice of geophysics in the exploration and development of natural resources, in characterizing the near surface, and in mitigating earth hazards.
