Event Date: Tuesday, June 18, 2019 Location: The Hudson, Calgary, AB, Canada New technology is leading the energy industry into the future and changing the way we do business. What innovations are leading the way, how are they changing the future of our industry, and how do we integrate these emerging technologies into our workflow and add value to our organizations? Join us on June 18, 2019, for GLJ Tech Day: The Future of Energy through Innovation — a full-day conference focused on emerging technologies and data. Featuring presentations from Acceleware, Eavor Technologies, Aucerna, Verdazo, Dr. Ian Gates and a panel discussion on Digital transformation lead by Heidrick & Struggles. The conference will bring together energy leadership, new technology champions, investors, and others, and will feature presentations from leading-thinkers in the energy industry and technology space, panel discussions, and networking opportunities for attendees to connect. Innovating the Thermal Industry with Radio Frequency Heating Acceleware is a leading developer of radio frequency (RF) heating technology to facilitate the cost-effective and environmentally-friendly extraction of heavy oil and bitumen. The RF XL 500-2000m horizontal long thermal well design can deliver dramatic benefits including; a significant reduction in the capital investment without steam injection, 25-100% lower greenhouse gas (“GHG”) emissions, and a substantial decrease in land use. The modular design allows for rapid deployment, and flexibility in power delivery, to match the needs of the reservoir and maximize wellbore performance. Acceleware has been focused on progressing the engineering, design and prototyping work related to the company’s planned commercial-scale test of RF XL and filing of additional patent applications related to the technology. The company is funded by milestone payments from a major oilsands player and agreements with Sustainable Development Technology Canada (“SDTC”) and Emissions Reduction Alberta (“ERA”).  The agreements will provide a total of $10 million in non-repayable grants. The GLJ technology presentation will provide an overview of the ongoing engineering and technical work on their pilot project and Acceleware’s development path to the commercialization of this game changing technology.
